Get To Know Katelyn Loper, a Senior at Post Falls High School. When she isn't relaxing at home or getting down with her bad self line-dancing, Katelyn keeps herself busy by breaking school scoring records and getting into prestigious colleges, like Hofstra University. While we have no doubt that Katelyn will one day achieve her goal of being an ESPN broadcaster, we are less optimistic about her finding room for all her sneakers in her Honda to make the drive to NY.

Katelyn Loper - Post Falls High School

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have lived in Idaho since I was 7 years old. I have been playing basketball for about 12 years and have been all over the country to play. I am now 18 born on October 17,1991.

What are your basketball team's biggest strengths?
I think my teams strengths are we get along so well and that everyone contributes something individually special.

What is your favorite thing about being a Post Falls Trojan?
The absolute best thing is our school pride. It has become a lot stronger and our coaches, staff and all around people are amazing!

What team are you most excited to compete againt every year, and why?
The team I get most excited to play against would have to be Coeur d'Alene. They challenge us so well every year and it always turns out to be a great game.

What is your favorite sport to watch? Participate in?
The most exciting sport to watch is mostly basketball but I also like football. And the best sport to compete in is basketball of course.

Who is your favorite teacher/subject? Why?
My favorite subject is definitely government because my teacher Mr. Hinz also our varsity football coach makes it so real and fun at the same time.

Favorite high school memory, so far?
Beating CDA High School in the regional championship and going to state.

What kind of car gets you around town?
My '94 Honda Accord

Favorite food?
Penne pallame

What is your most memorable moment in a basketball game?
When I hit a three pointer during the Moscow game to beat our schools scoring record.

What is your most embarrassing moment of all time?
When I was in practice and a scout was there I fell backwards running an inbounds play.

It's the weekend. Sit at home or out on the town?
At home- I take some time to lay around at home and then I go out.

What is something most people do not know about you?
I own about 40 pairs of sneakers.

What was the last song you listened to?
to be completely honest I listened to some line-dancing music because for my life time sports class we learned how to line dance.

Any thoughts on where you want to go to college?
I am attending Hofstra University in Long Island, New York

When you "grow up" what is your idea of the perfect job?
My perfect job would be a broadcaster for SportsCenter and with my college being 25 minutes away from New York City it works out perfectly.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I've ever received would be to be yourself. And to not take a day off because that day that you do your competitor could be getting better.

100 years from now, when your name is mentioned, how do you want to be remembered?
I would love to be remembered as a person who cared a lot for the people I knew and I always gave it my all. That I challenged myself everyday to be successful.

Now..to make sure you are paying attention...What is your favorite high school sports web site?
Without a doubt - IdahoSports.com!
